The Elan Valley Railway

Elan Valley Railway

Between 1893 and 1904 Birmingham Corporation constructed the Elan Valley dams and central to this was the Elan Valley Railway. Actually four connected railways, they were vital for the import of men and materials to the construction sites. Today much remains and an exploration of this railway makes for a fascinating day out, combined with breath taking scenery and some great places in which to eat and relax.
