"I recently went with Rob of Exploring Mid Wales to Herefordshire on a quest to visit the country home built by my ancestors in 1770 and occupied by them for 70 years. I was told the area was too rural to navigate on my own as an American visitor, hence Rob's help. Rob did a lot of research in advance and, yes, it was a remote locale. I doubt I would have found the place. His insight on beautiful Herefordshire and its natural features was very enlightening. We were lucky enough to meet the current owner of the home, be invited in for tea and given a tour. Rob kept using the word serendipity throughout the day and there was a great deal of that involved, but he was also very well-prepared for an atypical challenge. Our day included a trip to the nearby market town, a National Trust property, and at his suggestion,an antiquing town. What an amazing day! One more thing crossed off my bucket list.
