The Hafod estate

When Thomas Johnes bought the Hafod estate in 1782, he commenced a vast programme of planting woodland, improving agriculture and developing a series of "picturesque rambles" within his lands. Today the estate, owned by Natural Resources Wales, provides an abundance of trails and routes to explore. We would like to show you some places that are so special that they won't be named here but, trust us, Hafod repays detailed exploration. Situated about ten miles east of Aberystwyth, our Hafod walks range between 3 and 6 miles and will yield a day out in the woods that you will cherish.
