Gerald of Wales / Giraldus Cambrensis / Gerallt Gymro  twelfth century Archdeacon of Brecon, historian, travel writer and would-be Bishop of St Davids gives us a detailed and fascinating account of Wales at the times of the crusades. Gerald travelled widely throughout Wales and speaks with the authority of one able to speak Latin, Welsh and English. Our tour will visit some of the very places Gerald trod some 800 years earlier. We'll see where he urged local peasants to join the Third Crusade in 1188, towns and castles that survive today. For a detailed look at Wales in the late Norman era, join us and join Gerald!
