Glaciation in Mid Wales

Glaciation, Cader Idris, Cwm Cau Cwm Cau, Cader Idris. A textbook example of a corrie.

We are in an Ice Age right now! In fact we've been in one for the past 2 million years. Ice has played a major role in shaping the Welsh landscape we see today. We can look at the effects in the Brecon Beacons or in the Wye Valley, but the best glacially-eroded mountain in Mid Wales is Cader Idris. Our glacial tour focuses on Cader and does involved walking half way up, into the corrie of Cwm Cau. If you like glaciation, you'll love Cader!
