The Wye Valley Railway

The Wye Valley Railway at Redbrook

Sanctioned by Parliament in 1866, the Wye Valley Railway linked Monmouth and Chepstow with a later branch up to Coleford in the Forest of Dean. Often linked with the later Ross & Monmouth Railway, these lines passed through beautiful country and would have been very popular today. Our tour sets out from Monmouth to re-trace the lines and to discover something of their past glory.
