Mid Wales Railway

Builth Wells station

Opened in 1864, the Mid Wales Railway ran from Llanidloes to Brecon though it owned neither terminus. Our tour will seek to follow the route, exploring the remains of the line that largely follows the Wye valley. Though closed in 1962, the MWR gives a fascinating day's tour and one can only dream of what might have been for this most scenic of lines.
