Heads of the Valleys

This driven tour looks at the origins of the Industrial Revolution in South Wales. We will explore the Blaenavon World Heritage Centre, the Blaenavon Iron Works, Big Pit National Coal Mining Museum and the hidden tramways and canals that linked the raw materials to the works hauling coal, iron ore, limestone and the finished product to market. We will uncover what remains of the once giant Cyfarthfa ironworks at Merthyr Tydfil and see how the ironmasters lived in splendour at Cyfarhfa Castle.
