Helen's Wedding Party

Montanans and Californians of the Zeitz family gathered in Herefordshire for the wedding of Nolan to local girl Helen on February 21st. But with a few days to see the wonderful countryside they turned to Rob who designed three bespoke tours for them.

Monday saw the three Montanans retrace the steps of the early Tourists such as Shelley and Gilpin who toured the Wye Valley from Ross to Tintern.

Tuesday the Californian branch of the family joined us for a Black Mountains tour that travelled the length of the Vale of Ewyas and culminated in crossing the Gospel Pass and spending the afternoon in the glorious bibliophiles' paradise of Hay-on-Wye.

Finally Wednesday saw the group head for the northwest of the county and the Black and White Village Trail.Weobley, Dilwyn, Monkland cheese factory, The Cross Inn - Eardisland, Pembridge, Kington and cream tea at the New Strand Cafe - Eardisley all proved popular!

The Elan Valley - the green heart of Wales

The vast Elan Valley estate, created by Birmingham Corporation in the 1890s to supply fresh drinking water to the city, today represents a huge area of conservation and recreation , 43,000 acres where everyone has freedom of access. These pictures were taken during our remarkable February when temperatures reached 20°c. The Elan Valley has a visitor centre and is a wonderful place to explore with a knowledgeable guide..like Rob.
